HCLC is delighted to introduce Onika Phillip-Adams who is currently undertaking an internship with us.

Onika (pictured left) joined the HCLC team in September 2015. Since then, she has been working predominantly with HCLC's Senior Housing Solicitor Nathaniel Mathews on housing law cases.

Onika has assisted Nathaniel with a variety of work including possession hearings, judicial reviews, the duty solicitor rota at Clerkenwell and Shoreditch County Court and she has also clerked for HCLC and instructed counsel at housing trials at Edmonton County Court. Before coming to HCLC, Onika worked in the hospitality industry while she studied on the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at night. 

Onika was called to the Bar of England of Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in 2012 and hopes to practise. She has a particular interest in criminal law, immigration law and insolvency law. In her spare time, Onika likes to read, go for long walks and is a champion baker. Her baking speciality is her Victoria sponge, which she says is the "softest sponge one will ever taste." Watch out Nadiya!
