Hackney Community Law Centre is delighted that Sir Henry Brooke will be addressing our 2017 Annual General Meeting.

Sir Henry Brooke CMG PC is a retired judge. He became a Lord Justice of Appeal in 1996, and became Vice-President of the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales in 2003. He retired from judicial office on 30 September 2006.

Following his retirement, Sir Henry practised as a civil mediator for eight years and was Chairman of the Civil Mediation Council between 2007 and 2011.

He is currently the Emeritus President of the Slynn Foundation, and a patron of nine charities in the legal field, including the Public Law Project, the Prisoners of Conscience Appeal Fund, Prisoners Abroad, Law for Life and the Harrow Law Centre.

Over the summer, Sir Henry visited Hackney Community Law Centre as he has become a prolific and well respected blogger on legal aid and access to justice issues.  Sir Henry served on Lord Bach's Access to Justice Commission, which published its report in September 2017.

We hope you will join us on Monday 4th December 2017 for what is guaranteed to be a stimulating talk by Sir Henry.
