Hackney More in Common
Hackney Community Law Centre (HCLC) joined the Hackney 'More in Common' festival on Saturday the 17th of June 2017. The Hackney event, which took place at the Hackney Community College, was one of thousands around the UK celebrating the life of the late Jo Cox MP.
Jo Cox MP believed that people had more than common than divides us. In her short life, she championed hope over hate, biogtry, division and fear. Over the weekend of the 17th and 18th of June, people held special 'More in Common' and 'Great Get Together' events to celebrate the bonds they share with their neighbours and local communities in her honour.
HCLC were represented at the Hackney event by Miranda Grell, Development Officer (pictured left) and Sean Canning, manager (pictured right).
HCLC Chair and local councillor Ian Rathbone also came along to lend his support and join in the fun.
Well done to local community coalition Hackney Unites who did a sterling job in organising the event and brigning together so many different members of the local Hackney community. HCLC was pleased to be a part of this wonderful day.
